CITY ELECTIONS ONLY WEEKS AWAY

Don't forget to vote on March 7th.  Some important seats are in play and their new occupants will help shape the future of Los Angeles and Westwood.  Mayor, City Councilmember CD5 and School Board District 4 ( which includes Westwood) and several important initiatives are all on the ballot.

The winners of these elections will serve  5 1/2 year terms instead of the usual 4 years as LA seeks to eliminate off year elections.

Incumbents up for reelection include  Councilmember Paul Koretz, School Board President Steve Zimmer and Mayor Eric Garcetti.

Our City councilmember has enormous influence and decision making power for our community
The 7 member school board  controls the LAUSD school system and the Mayor is, well the Mayor, leader of our great city.

Also on the ballot is Measure S, a controversial anti development measure that is opposed by much of our city leadership.

These are critical races and initiatives, please take the time to learn about the candidates, the issues and to cast your vote.
